Obituary for Scott Terry Cordes Print Scott Terry Cordes, 54, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born January 17, 1965 in Wadena, Minnesota. Scott grew up in Wadena where he attended schools and graduated from high school.

He has lived in Garden City since 1985. In 1986, he met and married Silvia Guebara in Garden City. Scott worked for many years at Tyson where he became a supervisor.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, joking, and was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. He also loved his dog “Kisses” and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include 4 children Kayla Cordes of Garden City, Sean Cordes of Bismark, North Dakota, Alfonso Fajardo of Garden City, and Simon Fajardo of Garden City; his mother Cheryl Whitley Schmidt of Altemonte, Tennessee; 3 sisters Sharlene Cordes of Wichita, Kansas, Shellie Gades of Evansville, Minnesota, and Stephanie Harnack of Deluth, Minnesota; and 10 grandchildren Aria Cordes, Simon Fajardo, Jr., Samantha Fajardo, Andrew Cordes, Ray Fajardo, Romeo Garcia, Roman Garcia, Victoria Fajardo, Zavian McDowell, & Anahi Fajardo.

Scott is preceded in death by his father Merlyn Cordes and an infant brother Sheldon Cordes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday all at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the Scott Cordes Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
