Scotty’s Obituary Scotty Daniels and known to many as “Doboy” of Beech Creek, WV was born on January 29, 1941 at Lindsey, WV a son of the late Samuel and Mary Belle Blankenship Daniels departed this life on Saturday morning March 23, 2019 while an inpatient in the Tug Valley ARH Medical Center. Scotty was 78 years old. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Kathryn Murphy Daniels; daughter Patricia Ann Daniels; grandson Brandon Scott Daniels and a sister Dimple Daniels.
Scotty was a coal miner having worked for the Tall Timber Call Company. Scotty being of the Church of Christ faith attended the Ben Creek Church of Christ of Ben Creek, WV. His love for the Lord was evident as he was consistent in his faith and was always ready to offer advice as he was upfront and plain spoken but those that gleaned from his wisdom knew his words of instruction was communicated with love.
Scotty was an avid gardener he loved to garden and took great pride in his harvest as he enjoyed sharing the blessings of his bounty with family and friends alike. It was not unusual for Scotty to get up in the early morning hours and fix a meal fit for a king, as he loved to cook and make sure those around him were well fed. Not only did Scotty enjoy spoiling his children and grandchildren he also made sure that the dears, squirrels and wildlife surrounding him were well taken care of.
Simply put Scotty enjoyed life and greeted each day with a smile. Those that survive Scotty include his daughters Gloria Jean Daniels of Meador Hollow, WV, Ethel Colleene Lester and her husband Craig of Newtown, WV; son John Edward Daniels and his wife Jennifer of North Matewan, WV; brothers Troy Daniels and his wife Kathy, Elbert Daniels and his wife Carolyn, Burl Daniels and his wife Sheila, David Daniels and his wife Nancy all of Rennselear, IN; sisters Jane Miller and her husband Lawrence of Pier Point, WV, Lois Daniels and her husband Andrew Cardwell of Winston Salem, NC, Shirley Phillips and her husband Bob of Daniels, WV Lynn Warrix and her husband John of Beech Creek, WV, Debbie Hatfield and her husband Michael of Pelham, NC; grandchildren Joey Hardin, Samual Daniels, Jonathan Daniels, John Aaron “JW” Woodell II, Adrienne Hatfield, Jacob Scott Lester and James Craig “JC” Lester II; a host of great grandchildren. Scotty is also survived by his companion Brenda Mudd of Wharncliffe, WV as well as a community of loving neighbors, family and friends.
Honoring services will be conducted on Wednesday March 27, 2019 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Ben Creek Church of Christ of Ben Creek, WV with Bro. Rocky Hatfield officiating burial will then follow in the Murphy Family Cemetery at Foundation Fork of Beech Creek, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends on Tuesday March 26, 2019 from 6-9:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with a special service beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Bro.
