Sharon Ciserella Marysvale, Utah Sharon Ann Thorn Ciserella, 78, Marysvale, Utah passed from these earthly bounds on May 6, 2018 in Provo, Utah. She was born March 12, 1940 to Frank and Theresa Hegedus Thorn in Midlothian, Illinois. She married the love of her life, Joseph Edward Ciserella November 23, 1958 at St. Christopher’s Church, in Midlothian, IL.

‘Life’s an Adventure’ to experience, so Sharon and Joe, in their early married life, with their station wagon full of kids, dogs, and camping gear spent summers trekking across the United States. In 1973 they took up permanent residence in a small town in South Central Utah. Sharon considered Marysvale her home and never budged from “Heaven on Earth” since.

As a devout Catholic in a predominant LDS community she managed to immerse herself and her family into the culture and hearts of all with her sheer strength of loyalty, respect and “enough food to feed an army”. Opening a café with her sister, Fran, they created a place of not only great food but a community gathering spot for youth and the ‘locals’. As the school lunch lady for 26 years “Ms. Sharon” became for many, a surrogate mom.

Sharon was known by so many who passed through the lunch line at Oscarson Elementary School not only for her cheese bake, but more importantly as a loving, kind, compassionate and devoted mother by proxy. She loved those who needed her most. Sharon is and always will be a of indomitable strength of character, not only for her family but her community and beyond.

She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Joseph Ciserella, Marysvale; children: Joseph (Jessica) Ciserella, O’Neill, NE; Theresa (Tia) Ciserella-Lemieux, Sicamous, BC; Antoinette (Toni) Ciserella, Marysvale; Christina (Tina) Winget, St. George; Frank Ciserella, Marysvale; Michael (Candace) Ciserella, Aurora; Victor Jurardo, Panguitch; James Jurardo, St. George; and David Jurardo, Richfield; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; siblings: Francis (Bill) Johnson, Marysvale; Ronald (Sherry) Thorn, Richfield; Pamela Jason, Chicago, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother Richard Thorn. The family wishes to thank the Marysvale EMT’s, Sevier Valley Hospital and Utah Valley Hospital medical staff for their wonderful care of Sharon.

Cremation services have been held. Memorial mass will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 810 South Hwy 118. Burial will be in the Marysvale Cemetery.
