OBITUARY Sharon Gail Burke February 8, 1947 – January 6, 2019 Sharon Gail Burke, 71 of Fort Worth was reunited with God on January 6, 2019. She was born February 8, 1947 in Cleburne, Texas a daughter of the late Jim Stroud and Ruth Bransom Stroud. Service: Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11 am at Christ United Methodist Church.

Visitation: Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Sharon Gail Burke was a loving mother, caring grandmother and cherished friend. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Joseph Burke, her 3 children Bradley James Wilson, Natalie Ruth Smith and Michelle Amber Wilson.

She is survived by her five grandchildren, Ashley Maurie Smith 25, Madalyn Diane Hinson 21, Savannah Nicole Wilson 20, Peyton Forrester Smith 17, and Caden Deland Smith 13. Sharon Gail Burke was the cherished daughter of Ruth and James Martin Stroud and sister of John Martin Stroud. She graduated Paschal High School in 1965 and went on to be a Texas Christian University Alumnus.

Through every aspect of her life, she dedicated herself to those around her. As an active twenty five year member of Christ United Methodist Church she served as a volunteer in many ways to her congregation. She dedicated herself to the safety of her neighbors as a member of the Citizens Blue Patrol neighborhood safety program.

Sharon along with her husband Joe were active members of the National Association of Postal Supervisors for over 25 years. She dedicated her time by serving as the Executive Vice President for the Texas State Branch of the National Association of Postal Supervisors Auxiliary for many years. Sharon volunteered for Harris Southwest Hospital over the years.

She was an avid TCU and Dallas Cowboys fan. She also enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Galveston, and loved time with her family. Through it all she served as the matriarch to her family, spending her days making cherished memories with her children and grandchildren.
