Shelley Lynn Mulkey, 57, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, December 3, 2018 at Springfield Regional Hospital. She was born February 1, 1961, the daughter of Raymond and Barbara Mulkey. She was a 1980 graduate of Northwestern High School and was employed at TAC industries.

Shelley took great joy in collecting Teddy Bears, Barbie Dolls and all things SpongeBob. Her favorite pastime was working word search puzzles, watching soap operas, and writing letters to family and friends. … Read More » She is survived by her cousin Sam Mulkey and his wife Kim who enjoyed serving as her guardians, following her mother’s death; second cousins Samuel Mulkey and Karli Mulkey, and special aunt, Judy Hall, as well as other aunts and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond in 1994 and her mother Barbara in 2011. Shelley resided at Oakwood Village since moving from her family’s home in Tremont City in 2010. The staff and other residents there were her second family in which she absolutely loved and adored.

The family would like to give special thanks to Oakwood Staff for giving Shelley great care, company, and memories. As her family, we often heard many wonderful stories of caregivers at Oakwood in which Shelley had a special relationship with; please know you made a huge difference in her life. A huge thank you as well to Springfield Regional Hospital; in particular: Doctor Kutwal and the staff of 3 North, 4 North, radiology, and Hospice Care.

The dedication and compassion shown to Shelley and our family this past week has been truly amazing. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 10:30 am in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Carl Ruby officiating. Friends may visit from 9:30 – 10:30 am prior to the service.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Tremont City.
