Husband of the late Sylvia Krasney; father of Jeffrey and Michael Krasney; grandfather of Ryan Ibrahim and Zachary Krasney; great-grandfather of Layla Ibrahim; brother of the late Samuel A. Krasney; uncle of Noma, Melanie, Keith, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sherman served in the Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Pratt Institute, and attended George Washington University.

He worked at Andrews Air Force Base as a radar specialist with the Department of Defense. Sherman attended Temple Solel in Bowie. He was also a Scout Master.
