Obituary for Sherry McClung Print Sherry Simpson McClung, age 64, of 626 McCormick Blvd, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor. She was born December 17, 1954 in Clifton Forge to the late Cecil William and Edith Craft Simpson. She was a retired clerk for Carilion Roanoke Memorial and Alleghany Regional Hospitals.

She was a member of the Clifton Forge High School Alumni Association and Clifton Forge Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Shane Fury of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Gary Simpson and wife Edie of Mesa AZ and Tony Simpson and wife Marlene of Verona; four nephews, Brian Simpson, Travis Simpson and wife Erin, Gary Simpson, Jr., and Adam Simpson; and special friends, Billy and Elizabeth Fury of Low Moor. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Scott Brown giving such good care to Sherry, and for being a special friend to Shane.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. George Broughman and Pastor Mike Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Sherry’s nephews, Brian Simpson, Travis Simpson, Gary Simpson, Jr., Adam Simpson, as well as other family and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA 24426.
