She was 68 years old. Shirley was born on September 14, 1950 in Riverside, NJ the third child and eldest daughter of William Warren “Buck” Edge and Anne Margaret (Boyer) Edge.

A lifelong resident of Burlington County, Shirley spent most of her teenage and adult years caring for younger people. At the age of 14, when her father passed away suddenly, she began helping care for her two younger sisters. Later, Shirley babysat for families in the Riverside area, before helping to raise and babysit for her three nephews.

Throughout her life, Shirley was devoted to her family, her Phillies, and her music. Among her fondest memories was attending the victory parade for the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies following their first World Series championship. Before her mobility was limited by leg issues, she regularly visited Philadelphia to help care for her late grandmother and uncle.

Shirley was a big fan of doo-wop and spent countless hours listening to Harvey Holiday on WOGL. Shirley was predeceased by her father, Buck, and two older brothers, William and Earl. She is survived by; her mother, Anne; two sisters, Sandy and Audrey; three nephews, Thomas (Trinidad), Michael (Jaime), and Christopher (Lauren); and five great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Ligaya, Jack, Ayla, and Liam.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. While the family is more than happy to accept flowers, you can also make a donation in Shirley’s memory to the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org) in lieu of flower arrangements.
