Shirley J. Pike, age 81 of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She was born February 27, 1937, in Jefferson, Ohio the daughter of the late Lester & Elma (Benjamin) Burgett. Shirley worked for the Edwardsville School District #7 as a cafeteria worker for many years.

She married Luther W. Pike June 6, 1978, in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2012. Shirley is survived by two sons, Malcom Milliman of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, John Melton of Edwardsville; one daughter, Vicky Henson of Worden, Illinois; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister Barbara Smith & husband Arthur “Art” of Jefferson, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Burgett. Shirley was a member of the Edwardsville General Baptist Church. She enjoyed her pets, sewing, quilting, but most of all being with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2018, at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Hyden officiating.

Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville. The family request memorials to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Shirley J. Pike please visit our Sympathy Store.
