Shirley Jean Olson, 83, of Summerville, wife of Rodell Melvin Olson, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Trident Medical Center. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5 o’clock to 8 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Gary Sinise Foundation, P.O. Box 368, Woodland Hills, CA 91365.

Shirley was born on May 29, 1935 in Enosburg Falls, Vermont, daughter of the late Gordon Joseph and Dorothy Jacobs. She served as chaplain for 20 years in the VFW post 3433 ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and cross stitching.

Survivors in addition to her husband Rodell are: one son: Dale Gordon Olson (Debbie) of Moncks Corner; grandson: Jason Abbott and numerous other grandchildren; four great grandchildren: Bishop Fisher, Jaydynn Hiott, Jenna Abbott, and Jaylen Abbott.
