Shirley Chambers, Jr. was born in Buckingham County on June 2, 1944 to Elizabeth Braxton Chambers and the late Shirley Chambers, Sr He departed this life on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Envoy Village Nursing Home in Fork Union. At an early age Shirley was baptized and joined the Mt.

Olive Baptist Church in Dillwyn. He received his education in the Buckingham County Public School system. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Elizabeth Chambers; his wife Connie Chambers of Farmville; two daughters, Belinda Chambers of Farmville and Sharon Chambers of Chester; two sons, Jerry Chambers and Craig Chambers, both of Farmville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Chambers of Farmville and Eugene Chambers and wife, Carolyn of Arvonia; three sisters, Mary Chambers of Prospect; Juanita Banks of husband, Lewis of New Canton and Gertrude Johnson and husband, George of Dillwyn; aunt, Estelle Brown of Dillwyn; two favorite nieces, Loretta Gough and Keisha Patterson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
