OBITUARY Shirley Mae Locklear October 10, 1939 – November 26, 2018 Mrs. Shirley Mae Locklear, 79 of China Grove, NC passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. Born on October 10, 1939 in Fulton County, GA. She was the daughter of the late William and Betsy Davis Carver.

She graduated from Russell High School in East Point, GA and attended Georgia State University. Mrs. Locklear attended New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA. She worked many years for West, Stern and Griffin Law Firm in Atlanta, GA and loved her job so much she continued working instead of retiring.

She was very detail oriented and took a great deal of pride in everything she did. She enjoyed long walks several times a week around Stone Mountain and loved being in the outdoors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Locklear and a brother, Bill Carver.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Billy Davis (Janice) of Harrisburg, NC, Dale Davis of China Grove, NC, and Jason Locklear of Atlanta, GA, as well as a daughter, Vicki Turk (Bob) of Douglasville, GA. Also surviving Mrs. Locklear are her brothers, John Carver (Connie) and Robert Carver. Also surviving her are grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Jacob Davis (Savannah), Gregory Pettit, Ashley Pettit, Eric Pettit and Michael Pettit.

A celebration of life for Mrs. Locklear will be held in early spring of 2019 in Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1131 Harding Place, Charlotte, NC 28204. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Locklear.
