Obituary for Shirley M. Sedivec Shirley Mae Sedivec passed away April 7, 2018 at Good Shepherd/Journey Care in Barrington. She was born November 19, 1927, in Chicago, to the late Fred & Ethel Schultz. On November 3, 1949 she married Charles (Charlie) Sedivec, who preceded her in death in 2006.

She had a sister Charlotte (Lewis) Johnston, and a brother Fred, Jr. (Peggy), who also preceded her in death. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Dan) Verseman, and her son Charles (Molly) Sedivec. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren: Ryan Verseman, Kristin (Jen Nelson) Sedivec, Jared (Sasha) Verseman, Kate Sedivec, Michaela (Diego) Rendon, and great-grandmother to Lincoln Rendon.

Shirley is also survived by her nieces Judy (Bob) Kavanagh, Pam (Bob) Burhans, Karen (Jim) Meier, Cheryl (the late Chuck) Spiteri, Carol Schultz Junge, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She is also survived by her dear friends of many years, Marion Hanke and Eileen Manno. Family and friends were happy to be able to celebrate Shirley’s 90th birthday with her this past November.

There will be a Memorial Service at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Road, in Cary at 11:00 on Saturday, April 14, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made in Shirley’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Shirley M.
