OBITUARY Shirley Vickers Clark May 4, 1939 – February 2, 2019 Shirley Catherine Vickers Clark, age 79, passed away at her home on February 2, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. “Charley” Clark; and a brother, Donald Vickers, Sr. A beloved mother and grandmother, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sandra Holland; son-in-law, Ed Holland, Jr.; granddaughter, Emily Holland; grandson, Edward “Trey” Holland, III; brothers, Mike (Louise) Smith and Larry Vickers; and a sister, June Gilbertson. Shirley was a dedicated employee of Mobile County Circuit Court for 44 years until her retirement in 2009.

She often claimed that she loved going to work every day of those 44 years. Fortunately, she discovered that retirement wasn’t so bad, either. She was an avid reader and could spend hours wrapped up in a good book.

Another favorite activity was bragging about her grandchildren. She also discovered social media and enjoyed that she could keep up with distant friends and family. Shirley will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2019 at Pine Crest Funeral Home, with a chapel service immediately following. She will be laid to rest in Pine Crest Cemetery.
