Obituary of Shirley Jeffreys On October 19, 2018 Shirley Jeffreys (Henson), dear mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully at the age of ninety. Shirley was born October 5, 1928 in Idaho. She was a former resident of Livingston and lived in Rockaway Township until her death.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Rosamond (Green), father Leonard Henson, a brother Robert Henson as well as two sisters-in-law LaRetta and Marilyn. She is survived by her brothers Richard (Thelma Lee) and Stanley Henson and her sister Lorna Botts (Jack), her children Kristi Bristol and Timothy Jeffreys (Jo-Anne), her grandchildren, Jennifer, Steven and Matthew Bristol and TJ Jeffreys, and many family members too numerous to list but not forgotten. Shirley attended Idaho State earning her Bachelor’s Degree, Bradley University earning her Master’s Degree and Kean College earning the Degree of Professional Diploma in School Psychology.
In her professional life she worked as a school psychologist for more than thirty years in the Rockaway Township School System and in the Paterson School System before that. She was an extremely intelligent person who loved her job and the children she worked with. She enjoyed debating politics or any other subject that interested her and she read voraciously.
She will be missed. Shirley’s family will celebrate her life privately as she requested.
