Shozo Nagai October 21, 1928 – December 13, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Dr. Shozo Nagai (90) passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018. He was born in Tampico, Mexico, and move to Tokyo, Japan in his early years. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a successful dentist, graduating from Tokyo Medical and Dental University.

Dr. Nagai then further advanced his training at UCLA Dental School, where he became an active liaison for Japanese dental professionals. Dr. Nagai was a caring and compassionate dentist for over 40 yrs in his private practice in Hollywood. Shozo loved family and enjoyed golf, painting, reading, writing, karate, and the cello.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, thoughtfulness, intelligence, and integrity. Predeceased by his wife, Setsuko Nagai; he is survived by his children, Carolyn (Dr. Frank) Ogata and Dr. Barnard (Dr. Yeni) Nagai; grandchildren, Andrew and Anna Ogata, Hunter and Jordan Nagai; he is also survived by other relatives in Japan. Private family services were held on Thursday, December 27 at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles.
