Sister Mamie Louise Hortense Haynes Bowers, age 90 beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Hampton County, South Carolina and lived her adult life in Savannah. She worked as a Dispatcher for Milton Cap Company and retired after Twenty Years of service.

She also was a Domestic Engineer and a Volunteer with the Senior Citizen programs. She was added to the body of Christ and became a member of Cornwall Street Church of Christ May 1957. She was a faithful member of the Liberty City Church of Christ until her passing.

She always enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Bowers, Jr., and her son, William “Bobby” Henry Bowers. She leaves to cherished her memories: her loving children, Carolyn Bush of Savannah, Hortense Green (Willie) of Alaska, Jeannette Jackson (Larry) of Ellenwood, GA, Jake “Ricky” Bowers III (Lorraine), Gwendolyn Bowers, and Camille Gray (Tommy) all of Savannah; two sisters-in-laws: Queen Ester Singleton and Eula Bowers of Hampton, SC.
