She has lived in Lakeland all her life. She was a student at Doris A. Sanders Learning Center. Skylar took in as much life as she could with great tenacity.

She loved to swim, she was an avid F.S.U. Seminole Football fan and N.H.L. Tampa Bay Lighting fan and of the Baptist faith. Remember her beautiful smile that would light up a room, remember her love of life, her “sassiness” and her laugh. In her 16 short years she touch so many lives across the country, she will be sorely missed but not forgotten.

Skylar is survived by her parents Charity & Josh Proffitt, maternal grandparents Joyce & Michael Bivens, paternal grandmother Ann Proffitt, Uncle Denny (Danielle) Madsen, Aunt Michelle (Jay) Young and a large number of extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends Friday February 15, 2019 from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Seigler Funeral Home-Chapel. A celebration of “Skylar’s” life will be held at 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of “Skylar” to “Girl Power 2 Cure” secure.
