Obituary for Sofia Poberezhniy Sofia Poberezhniy, 92, of rural Chariton passed away at home on April 15, 2018. Services will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial will be at the Chariton Cemetery.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Alex (Valentina) Poberezhniy, and Kathy (Leon) Lagoda; 9 grandchildren: Sergey, Vladimir, Svetlana, Julia, Alex, Larisa, Victor, Yelena, and John; and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Alexiy and Daria; husband, Vasiliy in 1991; siblings: Vasiliy, Mokrina, and Maria; and an infant granddaughter, Tatiana.
