Obituary for Sonja Short SHELBY- Sonja Lowery Short, 79, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hattie Putnam Lowery. She worked many years at Eaton Corp.

and later retired as a CNA at White Oak Manor in Shelby. SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Craig Short and wife Missy of Kings Mountain; daughters, Jan Jenkins of Shelby, Jill Morehead and husband Butch of Grover, and Kandace Newton and husband Darren of Shelby; brother, Richard Lowery and wife Kaye of Shelby; grandchildren, Katina Lankford of Shelby, Jodie Brackett and husband Fuller of Casar, Dustin Morehead and wife Erin of Bessemer City, Lacey Morehead of Shelby, Molly Hoppes and husband Matt of Lynchburg, VA, Cooper Short of Kings Mountain, Emma Short of Kings Mountain, Gabriel Short of Kings Mountain, Abbee Rae Newton and Parker Dale Newton, both of Shelby; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Zoie, Dax, and Addy. MEMORIAL SERVICES: A memorial service will be held 3pm, Friday, June 1, 2018, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
