Obituary for Velma Thompson SHELBY- Velma Thompson, 101, died Saturday, June 2, 2018, at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Welch, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Katie Sheffield Smith. She was a longtime member of Bethany Christina church in Miami, Oklahoma, and was an avid board game and card player.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Armine Thompson; daughter, Roberta ONeil; sister, Mildred Brown; and brother, Robert Smith SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Robert Thompson and wife Ellen of Charlotte; grandchildren, Heather Thompson and Hanna Worthey, both of Dallas, and Todd Thompson of Clover; great-grandson, Tyler Buckley of Dallas; and a niece, Roberta Watson of Hendersonville Funeral services will be private to the family.
