Sonja Maydak, 97, formerly of Crescent Twp. , died Friday, December 28, 2018, in Caring Heights Nursing Home, Coraopolis. Born September 29, 1921, in Leetsdale, a daughter of the late Theodore and Valeria Nikel Somar, she was a member of St. John Orthodox Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Maydak in 1982. There will be no viewing. A service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery Chapel with the Very Rev.

Father Michael Kochis officiating. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery. Arrangements by the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.
