Stanley R. Crissman, 79, died peacefully in his home on April 19, 2018, following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carolyn Crissman; son, Stanley R. Crissman, Jr.; daughters, Trisha L. Crissman (Mark Bishop) and Traci Catalano-England (Paul England); stepsons, Eric Heston and Steven Jahn II; grandchildren, Abbey Catalano, Amanda Catalano, Royce Crissman, Charlie Bishop, Zachery Heston and Samuel Heston. Originally from Rockford, Michigan, Stan was a graduate of Michigan State University and spent six years in the United States Navy as a radioman in communications.

Stan was a phenomenal salesman and entrepreneur, launching EPIC, Inc. in 1979, and had a long, successful career as a manufacturer’s rep operating as Crissman Sales. He was an avid fisherman and the luckiest line-caster that ever lived. Stan loved being on the water and spent a good part of his life drumming up fish tales on the deep waters of Lake Michigan and Canada’s Lake Athabasca.

He also enjoyed hours of blue gill fishing in Steuben County with his fishing buddy, Tom. Stan had a large presence and persona and was known for his dry sarcasm and sense of humor. He enjoyed endless cribbage games, completing the crossword puzzle every morning, leisurely boat rides and sunning in Cabo.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
