Obituary for Stanley “Stan” Maple SHELBY: Stanley “Stan” Maple, 59, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Atrium Health-Shelby. A native of Washington DC, he was the son of John and Virginia Pelzer Maple. He was fondly called “Stan The Man’ because he could do most anything, especially when working with wood and his hands.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a loving husband and father and will greatly be missed. SURVIVED: In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Sandra Jenkins Maple, of the home; daughters Neilan Timberlake and husband Bobby of Hidesville, Md and Tamara Gaither of Washington DC; sisters Betty, Laverne and Verdella Peltzer, all of Washington DC; and three grandchildren.
