Obituary for Helen Proctor Welch KINGS MOUNTAIN- Helen Pearl Proctor Welch, 83, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at CaroMont Health-Gastonia. A native of Cleveland Co., she was the daughter of the late Burgin and Florence Elmore Proctor. She was a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church and loved reading.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Howard Dean Welch, Sr.; sons Paul and Allen Welch; daughter Angie Welch; step mother Lurene Proctor; brothers Steve, Richard and Jack Proctor; and sister Pauline Ruppe. SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Howard Welch, Jr.and wife Karen; daughters Barbara Welch Flint and husband Steve, Wanda Welch Allison and husband Skeeter, Donna Welch and Terri Burgess and husband Donnie, all of Kings Mountain; sisters, Annie Ruth Connor and husband Aaron, Jody Hope and husband Dennis, Pat Smith and husband Gary, Carol Wells and husband Dennis, Gail Bolinger and Connie Goforth and husband Roger, all of Kings Mountain; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her beloved dog Gizmo; and best friends Elizabeth Carpenter and Helen McAbee.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain FUNERAL SERVICES: Will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 5, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church OFFICIATING: Rev.
