Janelle Chapman Jones April 1, 1934 – December 29, 2018 Janelle Chapman Jones, age 84, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on April 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Addie Lee Cook Chapman. Janelle was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

She retired from Fiber Industries after a number of years of service. Janelle enjoyed working outside and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Janelle is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Jones; three brothers, Boyd Chapman, Earl Chapman, and Dwight Chapman; and a grandson, Tyler Cooke.

Janelle is survived by a daughter, Debra Cooke and husband Joe of Shelby; a sister, Nadine Allen and husband Lee of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Pat Chapman; two grandchildren, Adam Cooke and wife Callie, and Erin Cooke. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 3:00 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Davis and Rev. Andy Oliver officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
