Stephen Lazar, 84, of Westminster, formerly of Whiting, New Jersey, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Longview Nursing Home. Born on December 12, 1934 in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Nestor and Pauline Lazar. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Lazar.

Steve worked for Southern Bell before retiring. He was a former member of the Ballentine Brewers Drum Corps, the Miramar Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department of Florida, and the Pistols and Petticoats Square Dancing group. Steve loved playing cards, square dancing, clogging, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Ronnie Lazar and wife Maria of Islin, NJ. , Stephen Lazar of NJ. , Meredith Marie Dwyer and husband Tom of Athens, GA.

, Heather Romig and husband Eric of Westminster, grandchildren Kayleigh, Amber, Madison, and Kat, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Xenia Lazar, Olga Roschak, and brother-in-law Willie Roschak. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, Maryland, with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave.
