Steve Vernon Paxton, Jr., 75, of Rockport, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at Owensboro Heath Regional Hospital. He was born October 11, 1943, to the late Steve Paxton, Sr. and Cora Belle Paxton. Steve was married to his high school sweetheart for 55 years.

He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Steve loved tinkering in the garage, working on the farm, hunting and fishing. He was a millwright by trade.

He loved his family, for they were his pride and joy. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margie (Jesse) Arriaga, his brother, Donald Paxton, and brother-in-law, Wendell Wilson. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Paulette Fulkerson Paxton of Rockport; his son, Jim (Lee) Paxton of Lakeland, Florida; his grandson, Tyler Paxton of Lakeland; his granddaughter, Shelby Paxton of Lakeland; his sister, Nancy (Hayward) Spinks of Hartford, Jean Wilson of Beaver Dam, Marilyn (David) Crume of Hartford and Donna (Mike) Cambron of Hartford; his sister-in-law, Martha Paxton of Henderson and several nieces and nephews A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev.
