Obituary for Steven H. Breneman Print Steven H. Breneman, 70, passed away on Wednesday February 13th, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House surrounded by his family and those who loved him. Steven was born on September 26th, 1948 in Kansas City, MO the oldest son of Joseph A. and Mary Lou Breneman. Steven served in the United States Army and retired after 20 years as a Major.

After retiring from the Army, he opened Breneman Concrete & Materials. He was also involved in local government serving on the Bonner Springs City Council, and as Mayor. Steven was a member of VFW Post 6401, as well as Sons of the American Revolution.

He was also an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts for many years. Steven was preceded in death by his son Michael, his father Joseph, and his brothers Donald and David.

He is survived by Joan, his wife of 46 years, his son James, his granddaughter Sienna, his mother Mary Lou, and his brother Robert. The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am on Tuesday February 19th at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St, Bonner Springs, KS. A celebration of life will be held immediately afterwards at 11:00am.

He will be laid to rest next to his son Michael at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Segs4Vets. To plant a tree in memory of Steven H. Breneman, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
