Steven Paul “Seno” Senecal, 52, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away November 29, 2018 at his home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with Rev.

Jeremy Heppler, O.S.B. as celebrant. The family will be gathering with friends following the service in the lower level at the Atchison Elk’s Lodge, 609 Kansas Avenue. Steve will lie in state at the funeral home on Tuesday where friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Atchison Achievement Services or Maur Hill- Mount Academy.

The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchison has been entrusted with the final arrangements. Steve was born June 30, 1966 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Richard Paul and Mary Patricia Cooney Senecal. He attended St. Benedict’s Elementary School and graduated in 1984 from Maur Hill Prep School.

He then attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas for one year and then attended and graduated from Benedictine College in 1988. He was an entrepreneur and mentor to countless people throughout his career. He was a key part of the Tanner’s Bar and Grill family for over thirty years.

He was a generous and outgoing person and made friends with everyone he crossed paths with, whether customers, staff members or golf buddies. After a final final here with us, now the man upstairs gets to have him anchor his scramble tournament team. Steve never missed a family event, whether a birthday, Mother’s Day or a holiday gathering.

At Christmas, especially, he was a kid at heart and made it an exciting time for all. A master card player, he made fun competition with the Senecal family card games. He will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Senecal, Lenexa, KS; a sister, Teresa (Dan) Wancura, Overland Park, KS three brothers, Jack (Heather) Senecal, San Luis Obispo, CA; Tom Senecal, Atchison, KS; Dan Senecal, Atchison, KS; numerous aunts and uncles; nieces, Megan Wancura, nephews, Josh Wancura, Luke, Logan, and Lance Senecal. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard P. “Dick” Senecal and maternal and paternal grandparents.
