May 5, 1942 – October 13, 2018 Steve Claxton, 76, of Albany, Oregon, passed away October 13th, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born to Ray and Virginia Claxton on May 5th 1942 in Vallejo, California. Steve lived in Nevada most of his life, where he married his wife Patricia on August 25th, 1971.

Later they moved to Alaska before retiring in Oregon. Steve served in the Navy and the Air Force before starting his career of driving long haul truck for 42 years. He was an active member of the Teamsters.

Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Claxton, his children; Dawn Morris (Craig), Dee Ann Thompson (Corey), Kenneth Whitney (Carla), Sam Whitney (Jaton), Marta Keeth (Paul), as well as 18 grandchildren, 30 + great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Judy Gallagher, and his son Tom Whitney. Steve will be remembered as a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
