Sudie Blanche Milam, age 94 of Lewisburg died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at NHC Oakwood. Sudie was a native of Giles County, and she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Katherine McCord Burgess. She was a retired nurse, having worked at Gordon’s Hospital and Oakwood.

In later years she sat with people at their homes. She was a member of the Hickory Heights Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn “Chess” Milam.

She is survived by two nieces, Faye Smith of the Laws Hills community, Patricia Bowker of Franklin, three nephews, Jason Burgess of Lewisburg, Barry Burgess of Shelbyville, James Lee Burgess of Wheel community, three great nieces, Jaide Burgess of Leoma, TN, Francessica Minor of Petersburg, Melissa Walls of Lewisburg, two great nephews, Payton Burgess of Lewisburg, Chris Smith of Lewisburg, and great great niece, Kenslie Dugger of Leoma. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Head Springs cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
