Sue Taylor Vermillion May 26, 1926 – December 30, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Sue Taylor Vermillion died on December 30, 2018 at Heritage Hall, Leesburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of Addie Jennings and Emmett Bartley Taylor, deceased. A native of Scott County, Virginia she was educated at Shoemaker High School and Radford Teachers College.

She was a long standing member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church and where she sang in the sanctuary choir for twenty years. She served on the Altar Guild and was affectionately known as the Flower Lady for her artistry with flowers. She was a wonderful cook and frequently delighted family and friends with her culinary skills.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jay Vermillion. Surviving are her daughters Deborah and husband, Bob DeHaven, of Leesburg, VA and Melissa and husband, Jere Masten of Greensboro, NC. Grandchildren: Alexandra and Elliott DeHaven, Taylor and Miranda Cato A memorial service is planned in her honor at First Broad Street United Methodist Church at 10am on Saturday, January 19th.

The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
