Susan Ellen Derosier of Whitman, 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 12, 2018 following a long battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen [(Fitzmaurice)] Callanan, she was the beloved mother of Thomas Derosier and wife Heather of New Bedford; Brian Derosier and wife Kimberly of Hanson; Kerry Burrows of Whitman; and Patrick Derosier and partner Kelly Melanson of Weymouth. Devoted grandmother to Aidan and Ainsley Derosier of Hanson; Raegan Derosier of Weymouth; Rory and Kevin Burrows of Whitman.

Susan will be greatly missed by her sisters, Joan Callanan of Whitman and Patricia Carleton and husband Kevin of Scituate, nieces Brianna Callanan of Whitman and Julia Sullivan of Scituate, and nephew Matt Carleton of San Diego. She will also be missed by her many cousins and friends. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Derosier.

A lifelong resident of Red Sox Nation, Susan was born in Boston and spent most of her life as a resident of Whitman, where for many years she worked on the town’s Haunted House fundraiser. She was proud to attend her fiftieth reunion with the Whitman Hanson Regional High School class of 1966, and she greatly enjoyed competing in local trivia games with her close-knit group of “trivia buddies”. She enjoyed travel, beginning as a young Air Force wife and later as the mother of a US Navy sailor.

She also worked as a travel agent in Boston for many years. Susan took great pride in working in the computer repair business started by her sons Thomas and Patrick, CPU Guys of Hanson. Her second greatest joy in life was seeing the Red Sox break the Curse of the Bambino and the Patriots’ rise to dominance.

Her greatest joy came in being a mother and a grandmother. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday May 19th in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9 am. Arrangement by the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Jimmy Fund.
