Susan Margaret Haller (Weisskopf) formerly of Belmont Jan. 19, 2019. She was the wife of the late Dr. John Haller.

She was born and raised in Basel, Switzerland where she attended Latin School “Gymnasium” and went on to get a masters degree in Education. She then taught in Basel’s schools. In 1964 she and her two small sons followed her husband, a swiss geologist to Belmont, since the latter had accepted a vocation from Harvard University.

Besides homemaking and raising the boys, Mrs Haller was dedicated to giving children professionally sound biblical instruction. She taught students in the Sunday schools of the Belmont United Methodist Church and the Harvard University Memorial Church. She was also for 20 years on the faculty on the faculty of the German Language Saturday School in Boston.

She is survived by Daniel U. Haller and Patrick R. Haller. At the family’s request her funeral services will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to Oxfam America 226 Causeway Street, 5th Floor,Boston, MA 02114 or to a charity of your choice.
