Susan Deanne Ellis-Vaughn passed away on October 11, 2018 from breast cancer at the age of 49. She was surrounded by family and friends in the days leading up to her death. Susan was born in Astoria, Oregon on July 24, 1969 to Donald Gene and Eula Mae (Wyatt) Ellis.

She attended both grade school and high school in Warrenton, Oregon graduating in 1987. She played volleyball, basketball, took dance lessons and enjoyed her friends especially Noelle and Heather. She had a black Pomeranian dog ‘Tweekie’ that was her best buddy growing up.

Her professional career included working at Wauna Federal Credit Union, the Astoria Courthouse, Astoria School District and most recently Warrenton School District. She was a beloved secretary at the Warrenton Grade School the past 6 years. She had a special gift for making all who crossed her path feel special and loved especially all the students at the school.

Her most loved job of all though was being a mom and taking care of her home and family. She fell in love and married her soul mate Kai Vaughn on October 5, 1996. They were blessed with twins Forrest and Brittany on January 9, 1998 who were the light of her life and she was so proud of the young adults they have become.

In addition to her husband Kai, she is survived by her daughter Brittany and son Forrest, stepsons Kai Jr. and Kolebey, parents Don and Eula Ellis of Warrenton, sister Lori (Jim) Hackwith of Warrenton, brother Dennis (Wende) Ellis of Portland OR, brother Donovan Kaufman of Springfield, OR, sister Kathy (Ken) Looper of Fontana, CA, sister Christine Ellis-Miller of Garrett, IN, nieces and nephews Amber, Cameron, Riley, Julia, Lacey, Minnie, Millie, Kristin, Kevin, Kayla, Josh, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends. Susan loved spending time camping with her family, reading, gardening and being with her precious beagle dogs. Susan will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to enjoy her warm smile, contagious laugh, quick wit and everlasting friendship.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 27, 2018 at Warrenton High School from 1:00-3:00pm.
