Obituary of Susan Rae Steidl February 15, 1952 – March 15, 2019 An anchor to her family, Sue lived a life that was an example of how to love unconditionally. Even her cancer diagnosis did not stop her commitment to serving others and, always open to new experiences, she continued living each moment to the fullest. Sue attended Silver Lake School and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, class of 1970.

After studying accounting at Grove City College and Florida Technological University, now University of Central Florida, she worked as a C.P.A. for the Defense Contract Audit Agency and then spent 24 years as the financial manager for Braun & Steidl Architects, Inc She was also active in the community, serving as a troop leader with the Girl Scouts, on the board of Hope Homes, and in numerous leadership positions at United Presbyterian Church, where she was a lifelong member. Experiences gained through her travels gave her a global perspective and appreciation for the realities of those whose cultures and experiences were vastly different from her own.

Her love for family and her faith led her to give freely of her time, energy, and compassion whenever and wherever she saw someone with an unfulfilled need. Those without a place were welcomed into her home and at her table, and countless came to call her mom. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Virginia (Frye) Simpson, and is survived by husband, Douglas; daughters, Christina Steidl (Derek Koehl) and Tiffany Dooley (Kirk); grandsons, Jackson and Colten Dooley; granddaughters, Kerany, Victoria, and Jessianne Koehl; brother, Bruce Simpson (Sherrie); and sister, Kathy Patton (Doug).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2819 Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Sue requested donations be made to the United Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund in her name.
