Suzanne M. Kandik loving wife, mother and grandmother died on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 80. She had been a resident of Bonita Springs, FL since 1997 and a former resident of Oregon, OH. Suzanne was born on March 9, 1939 in Toledo, OH to William and Letha (Hauenstein) Matile.

She received her teaching degree from Bowling Green State University and taught Physical Education in Perrysburg and Oregon schools in northwest Ohio. As the cheerleading advisor at Eisenhower Junior High she met her lifetime love, the basketball coach, Richard Kandik. They were married on August 9, 1968.

Suzanne enjoyed traveling, reading, swimming and crafts. Her passion for crafts led her to teach adult education classes from basket weaving to macramé. She was a member of the Toledo Craftsman’s Guild and Kappa Delta Sorority.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard J. Kandik of Bonita Springs, FL; daughter, Julie M. Bonar (Jonathan J.) of Peoria, IL; two sons, Stephen A. Kandik (Natalie) of Annandale, NJ and Jason W. Kandik (Seetha) of Skokie, IL; her brother, Robert Matile (Madelon) of Clevelnad, OH and 2 grandchildren, Noah Luigi Kandik and Isabel Joy Bonar. A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 625 111th Ave. No.

, Naples, FL. Burial will follow at St. John’s Memorial Garden. The family suggests that memorial contributions in memory of Suzanne be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at the above address.
