She leaves behind her husband, Ralph Wright, her son, Todd Wright, and her brother, Bethel Burchfield. Dale loved her many nieces and nephews and being “Aunt Grandma” to their children.

Dale was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Harry Burchfield, her sister Wanda (Burchfield) Smith, her sister-in-law Nancy (Quillen) Burchfield, and her sister and best friend in many escapades, Jean (Burchfield) Moore. Dale grew up in Hawkins County before moving to Kingsport, where she met her Sweetheart, Ralph. They married on March 1, 1958 and made their home in Colonial Heights.

There, Dale ran her own business and developed her reputation as “hairdresser to the stars” in her community. She was a long-time member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. She loved hosting her nieces Gail and Myra from Atlanta in the summer and her many road trips with Ralph to his Shriner’s conventions throughout North America.

She enjoyed traveling with the SSHS band parents to ball games, competitions, and concerts all over the Southeast. She was a fan of the Volunteers and the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed sharing all aspects of her life with those that she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of welcome hospitality and a remembrance of a smile and spirit that always filled the room.
