Sylvia’s Obituary Sylvia Gertrude Hale, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Verden, Oklahoma at the age of 82. She was born August 27, 1936 in Chickasha to Charles and Sevola (Smith) Cates. Sylvia lived most of her life in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School.

She married Phillip Hale, Sr. on January 15, 1956 in Amber, Oklahoma and they made their home in Amber for several years after Phillip was discharged from the Army. She worked for over 20 years in business administration for Grady Memorial Hospital and retired in 2001. She is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Wayne Hale, Sr. on October 1, 2016 and a daughter, Lorrie Hale on June 15, 2018.

Sylvia is survived by her children: Joe Hale, Phillip Wayne Hale, Jr., Larry Allen Hale, Sylvia Wanell Harris, Elizabeth Deneice Panther and Vera Shelly Panther; 29 Grandchildren, including Keisha Autrey; 69 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sisters: Christine Ward, Janice Strickland and Josephine Trotter; Brother, Lloyd Allen Cates; Sisters-in-law: Barbara Hale and Gracie Donoho; Brother-in-law, Harold Hale.
