Obituary for Sylvia Harriet Speer (Griffin) Print Sylvia Speer, 80 years old of Houston, Texas passed away on February 7, 2019 in Clarksville, Texas where she was visiting for the weekend. The visitation and services will be held at Fairhaven Methodist Church at 1330 Gessner Rd. , Houston, Texas 77055.

Visitation is at 10 a.m. and will be open casket, Services start at 11:00 and there will be a small luncheon to follow in the Trinity Center at the church. The family will have a private interment later in Victoria, Texas. Sylvia was born in Cotulla, Texas to Obbie Ellis Griffin and Donnie Inez (Parker) Griffin on May 30, 1938.

She went to school in Cotulla until 5th grade at which time her family moved to Victoria, Texas where Sylvia graduated from Patty Welder High School. Sylvia met and married Robert Don Baker and shortly after started a family. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Obbie and Donnie Griffin, her baby sister June Griffin, nephews Kenneth Wayne Griffin Jr. and Trevor Shenkir, nieces Lacy and Bridgett Griffin, her brother in law Maurice Shenkir, her ex-husband and father of her children Robert Don Baker and ex-husband Teag Speer, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter Debbie Harwell and husband Gerald, her son Ronnie, son Donald Baker and daughter in law Debbie and daughter Cyndi Hoffart and husband Glen. Her brother and sister in law Kenneth Wayne and Donna Griffin, sister Elaine Shenkir and her children Clayton Shenkir and Jodie Elder and her brother and sister in law Russell and Mary Griffin, Grandchildren – Matthew, Sheila, Veronica, Victoria, Samantha, Devin, Obbie, Michelle, Chad and Daniel, great grandchildren Austin, Brianna, Tristian, Kamora, Ely, Kennedy, and Olivia and Sophia and her significant other that she has given her much joy for the past few years, Clarence Garrison.
