Sylvia’s Obituary Dateline McKenzie, TN A Funeral service for Sylvia Irene Cox, age 82, is Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt- McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, February 22, 2019, 11:00 a.m. until service time. Brother James Smith is the officiant, and interment is at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. Mrs. Cox died Monday, February 18, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born in Bemis, TN on March 23, 1936 to Lapha and Claris Wilson Russell.

Mrs. Cox and her husband founded Central Refrigeration, McKenzie. She also retired from McKenzie Middle School Cafeteria as manager and is a member of Blooming Grove Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Waylon Cox, two sisters Leola Taylor and Marie Simpson and three brothers Verdell Russell, Dempsy Russell and Bobby Russell.

She is survived by two sons David Cox and Mark (Susan) Cox both of McKenzie, three sisters Betty Anderson of McKenzie, Regina “Pete” Taylor of Nashville and Margie Pate of Bentonville, AR, three grandchildren Derek Cox, Zack (Morgan) Cox and Leah Cox and four great grandchildren Kailey Cox, Lexie Cox, Payton Cox and Jensen Cox.
