Talbort’s Obituary Talbort Lee Horton entered his eternal home with His Savior on January 18, 2019. He was 70 years old. “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”. Isaiah 40:31 After years of physical pain and suffering, we rejoice that he is now walking, running, and praising the LORD. Talbort was a proud citizen of Whaleyville, Virginia.

He was a founding member of the Whaleyville Hunt Club. He was a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church and had a special place in his heart for Great Fork Baptist Church. He fondly remembered his places of employment, including the Gulf Station, Social Services, Planters Peanuts, and the Shipyard.

One of his favorite activities was spending time with friends and family reminiscing. Talbort was preceeded in death by his parents, Tommie and Myrtle Horton and an infant granddaughter, Kelsey Sloan. Talbort is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Emily Horton and his daughter and son-in-law Denise and Chris Sloan.

He was proud Papa to his grandchildren, Emma and Travis Horton Jr and Camden, Cayson, and Walker Sloan. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia Davenport, James (brother-in-law), Dana (niece), Randy, and Rebekah Howe. Many family members and friends also grieve his passing.

Special thanks to the staff at Nansemond Pointe for their care and the many friends who brightened his home away from home during their visits. Family will receive friends at Parr Funeral Home on Monday, January 21 at 10 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society.
