Robert’s Obituary Robert Lee Taylor Sr, 77, departed life at Sentara Norfolk General Heart Hospital on Sunday, February 24, 2019. He was born in Nansemond County, Suffolk VA on July 25, 1941 to the late Ernest William Taylor and Rosanna Taylor. Robert Lee attended school at East Suffolk High School.

Robert Lee worked at National Screen Factory for 20 years. After that stint he worked for Smithfield Packaging Company for 27 years before retiring in November 2016. In his early years, Robert Lee loved to go fishing and crabbing.

Robert Lee was a family man. He loved his children, “especially” his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert Lee was predeceased by his parents Ernest William Taylor and Rosanna Taylor, his loving wife Annie Brown Taylor of 32 years; three brothers William Taylor, Ocie Taylor, Ernest Taylor and one sister Edith Taylor.

Robert Lee leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Michelle Taylor of Portsmouth, VA; Vernice Taylor of Suffolk, VA; three sons Robert Lee Taylor, Jr (Linda) of Pittsburg, PA; Anthony Taylor of Suffolk, VA; Craig Taylor (Shenita) of Suffolk, VA; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five sisters Catherine McCready of Newport News, VA; Rosa Hart of Baltimore, MD; Vanessa Greene (Phil) of Suffolk, VA; Elizabeth Taylor-Stagg (Luther) of Aurora, Colorado; Dorothy Thompson of Suffolk, VA; one brother Theordore Taylor of Manhattan, NY; two brother-laws, McOlzer (Ethel) Brown of Suffolk, VA; and Redell (Velma) Brown of Portsmouth, VA; and sister-in-law Linda Brown of Suffolk, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and an enormous amount of friends from his community and work who will never forget him because of the relationships he built. Robert Lee will always live in our hearts as an incredible man who loved his family and cherished his true friends.
