Monwelda’s Obituary On Wednesday, February 20, 2019 God called our beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend Monwelda “Monie” Davis Holliman home to her eternal rest. She was born August 26, 1953 in Suffolk, VA to the late Lorenzo Lonnie Davis and Margaret E. Davis. Monie was proceeded in death by her husband Joe T. Holliman, a daughter Terri De’ lisa Holliman.

Brothers Lonnie Lorenzo Williams, Vincent A. Davis Sr., Lorenzo Davis Jr., Sisters Jeanell Davis Wells, Patricia Ann Briggs. Monie attended Booker T. Washington High School in Suffolk. She was a state Certified Nurse’s Assistant, for Nansemond Pointe Health Center for 28 years and Tandem Health Care for 12 years.

She enjoyed caring for her patients. Monie was a loving and caring daughter, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her son, grandchildren, and family.

She loved to cook, and the sister could burn. She was famously sought after for her Chicken & Dumplings and Barbecue. She loved to play cards and listen to music from her record collection.

She is survived by her son Jovon (Melissa), granddaughter Cimayiah, grandson Joron, step grandson Tre’mon, her mother Margaret E. Davis, sisters Minister Angela Copeland (Nelson), Margaret Lee (Michael), Carolyn Woodson (James), Paternal sisters Joyce Jones, Janice J. Parker (Clayton), Carmen Jones, Brenda Lassiter (Alton) and Jane Briggs. A special great nieces Kindra R. Mason, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
