Tara Lea (Glenna) Swanson 42, of Centuria Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly in her home Sept 30th, 2018. Tara was born in Chisago City, MN on February 20, 1976 to Wayne and Terry (Woods) Glenna. She graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1994.
She married Dennis Swanson from Centuria Wisconsin, Sept 10th, 1994. They settled in Centuria and had three daughters: Mercedes, Kiarra and Zoe. Mercedes blessed them with a granddaughter Addison Virginia in 2016.
While in high school Tara worked as a nanny and a CNA. After marrying and having her children she decided being a CNA wasn’t enough so she earned her CMA Certificate and worked at the St Croix Regional Medical Center. But what she really wanted to be was a nurse so she attended WITC in New Richmond, Wisconsin at 30 years of age and earned her RN License.
She worked at the Baldwin Hospital right out of nursing school, she also worked in Woodbury, Rice Lake, and Regions but the commute was too much so she decided to find something closer to home so she worked in Grantsburg. She had to give up her nursing a few years ago due to some health issues but always hoped to return to the profession. She loved helping people.
The most important thing in Tara’s life was her family. She was always there for her daughters and her nieces and nephew. She loved to sing Karaoke with her friends.
Every October up until a couple years ago she and her family worked for Jean Sockness at her Halloween Events. Shortly after they were married Tara joined the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department in Centuria with Dennis who had been on the department for several years. Two of their daughters Mercedes who joined at 16 and Zoe who joined as a Jr cadet at 14 were also members.
Tara was also a First Responder. She loved being on the Fire department and all the wonderful friends she met along the way. Tara is survived by her husband Dennis, daughters Mercedes, Kiarra and Zoe and granddaughter Addison Swanson, her parents, Wayne and Terry (Woods) Glenna, brother, Heith and his wife Theresa (Sellman) Glenna, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Kirsten (Fehlen) Bloom, nieces: Kailey, Kari, Sydney, Lana Glenna and Ashley Bloom and nephew Jake Bloom.
Also included are three very special children – Aiden, Konnar and Harper who were very dear to her heart as well as numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins and many great friends. The Funeral Service for Tara will be on Saturday October 6th, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, in Balsam Lake Wisconsin at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Diane Norstad officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Tara will be laid to rest at the Bunyan Union Cemetery in Balsam Lake Township following the service. Pallbearers will be Tony Weinzirl, Brett Weinzirl, Brett Meyer, Chris Kolve, Tim Feit, Kaj Juergensen, Paul Mitchell and Jake Bloom. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aiden and Konnar Kralewski.
