Terri Lee Lyddane Downs of Montgomery County, MD passed away on October 15, 2018 from complications of cancer at the age of 65. She was predeceased by her husband, William Downs and her father, Donald Lyddane, Sr. Terri is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Lyddane of Silver Spring; her daughter and son-in-law Lauren and Bobby Gregory of Frederick County, MD; her grandchildren Chloe Maguire and Miles Gregory; her brother and sister-in-law Donald Lyddane, Jr. and Bonnie Lyddane of Manassas, VA; her nieces Brittney MacFarlane and Kimberly Lyddane. She also leaves behind many cousins, and life long friends.
Terri was a 1971 graduate of Robert E. Peary High School in Rockville, MD and was extremely well liked amongst her classmates. She often reminisced fondly on those bygone days with her many Peary friends, that she regularly kept in touch with throughout her life. Terri was the personal assistant and dear friend to Gerald Herson of Herson’s Honda for 30 years.
Terri also was the proprietor of several gift and interior design shops- JT Interiors in Gaithersburg and Potomac, MD as well as Savannah’s of Leesburg and Downs & Co. in Leesburg, VA. Terri was a strong, ambitious, professional woman who rose to every challenge. She had a wonderful zest for life and a deep love for her family and friends.
Terri had a wonderful eye and a strong passion for interior design and decorating, for which she will be widely remembered. She used her unbreakable “can-do” spirit to not only open several beautiful retail shops, but also to strongly encourage everyone she met to use their own talents to achieve their dreams. She was fair and honest and never failed to offer compassion and help to those in need.
She will be mourned by her family, friends and business associates. Visitation will be held at the Church of Christ at Manor Woods, 5300 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 10:30AM – 11:30AM with funeral services at 11:30 AM. Internment will take place at National Memorial Park 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 at 3PM.
