Wood, age 88, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho, Missouri. She was born October 1, 1930 in Marshfield, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse and Lillie (Herbert) Williams. In 1990 she was united in marriage to Gerald R. Wood, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Roy Lee Jarrett and two sisters. Surviving are three sons, James Morse and his wife Marie E. of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, Rodger Morse and his wife Carmen of Willcox, Arizona and John Whitt of Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Ruth Ross and her husband Bill of Conroe, Texas and Dorothy White of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; one sister, Betty Hamilton of Coolidge, Arizona; eleven grandchildren, Jesse Morse, Sheryl Morse, Brenda Jarrett, Elvis Jarrett, Mark Whitt, Judy Whitt, Melissa Ross, Robin Ward, Denise Morse, Mary Morse, and Chevon Morse and ten great grandchildren. Thelma lived in many different states including Oregon, California, Arizona and Arkansas.

While in Arkansas she was a substitute teacher in Piney, and was also a restaurant cook. She enjoyed playing league pool and loved to sing. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Union Cemetery in Stella, Missouri, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Missouri.

Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services.
