Thelma’s Obituary WALTERBORO: Mrs. Thelma Thompson Walker, wife of the late Carroll P. Walker, died Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the Colleton Medical Center. She was 89. Mrs. Walker was born August 5, 1929 in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Getha R. Thompson and Docia Pellum Thompson.

She attended Winthrop College, where she received her degree in Music, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was the pianist for both the Great Swamp Baptist Church and the Walterboro Men’s Chorus. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Mayfield Garden Club, was a homemaker, and at the time of her husband’s death, they had been married 60 years.

She is survived by several cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Live Oak Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 the morning of the service.

Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
