Theodore L. “Ted” Engelbrecht, 79, of Salida died May 20, 2019, at his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1940, to Milton and Elizabeth (Schurer) Engelbrecht.

He married his wife, Rayetta, on Aug. 14, 1999. Mr. Engelbrecht enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, four-wheeling, bowling, woodworking, the Denver Broncos and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; sons, Travis Engelbrecht of Cañon City and Troy Roberts of Utah; daughter, Traci Roberts of South Dakota; brothers, Gene Engelbrecht of Washington and Harold Engelbrecht of Buena Vista; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A private family service will take place later.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Lung Association or the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida. Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at lewisandglenn.com.
